Monarch Academy Public Charter School is a Baltimore City Charter School: a tuition-free, publicly funded charter school serving children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Baltimore City. Monarch Academy is publicly funded and open to all students. Admission testing or screening is not required for admission to Monarch Academy.

For the 2012-2013 school year, Monarch Academy is admitting children entering kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth and fifth grade. We will add subsequent grades as classes graduate to the next grade level. 

To enroll in Monarch Academy Public Charter School, parents must fill out an enrollment application to Monarch Academy. You can complete our online form or download the printable application and mail it to Monarch Academy Baltimore campus. The application deadline is February 17, 2012.

Once a student is enrolled in Monarch Academy, he/she does not need to apply again for subsequent years at the school.

Kindergarten Admissions

To enroll children entering kindergarten, you must have the following:

• Documentation that the caregiver has legal custody of the child
• Original birth certificate
• Two proofs of residence:
  Mandatory: apartment lease, mortgage statement or deed 
  Optional: utility bill, current bank statement, property tax, W-2  form, social security check, current pay voucher or domestic relations check
• Completed immunization record

Kindergarten students registering for 2012-2013 school year must be 5 years old by September 1, 2012. There will also be a kindergarten registration day to be held at Monarch Academy in conjunction with the Baltimore City Public School System. First–Fifth Grade Admissions

If your child is new to City Schools, you will need:

• Documentation that the caregiver has legal custody of the child
• Two (2) proofs of residency in Baltimore City
• Original Birth Certificate
• Completed immunization record
• Maryland transfer form, which can be obtained from your child's present school

If your child is transferring from another Baltimore City School, you will need:

• Baltimore City Transfer records
• Two (2) proofs of residence
• Baltimore City Student ID number
